For those who feel they've over indulged during Christmas and the New Year, Percys are pleased to say we have a menu full of many BIG flavour, comforting, guilt-free dishes :) Here are the facts:
- All our burgers and flatbreads contain fresh and completely grilled ingredients, so we never fry any of our meat.
- Our "slaw" is hand-cut freshly every day with fresh ingredients, and is lightly dressed in roughly 50% low fat yoghurt and 50% mayo. So there is nothing heavy or guilty there.
- We make all our own rubs and sauces, and confirm that there is nothing nasty or guilty in these (just a bit of extra virgin olive oil in our Chimichurri sauce).
- Our chips are the only thing we fry.
So, if you are in need of something incredibly tasty, full of flavour, comforting, but without the calorie guilt, you can treat yourself to one of our flatbreads or burgers with a mixed salad, pot of slaw, grilled corn, even our wings, ribs, pulled pork or chicken leg, and not feel bad about it afterwards :)

We've also noticed when our customers like to enjoy their Percys, and after much feedback referring to us as restaurant quality food, we are adapting more resturant-like opening hours, and will now be closing at 10pm instead of 11pm.

On Saturday (25th June) Percys received an order from a celebrity chef who was staying in MK that weekend. After many years of visiting America, generally to seek out and research authentic BBQ food, they were intrigued to find a BBQ food delivery service in the UK and wanted to see whether we could live up to our claims.
The resulting conclusion was....yes we can!
Phil Vickery, known for many years as a TV celebrity chef and husband to Fern Britton, ordered a Percys and was certainly not disappointed. After ordering and enjoying a selection of dishes from our menu, Phil called back to share his feedback, and congratulate us on achieving the best BBQ food he’s tasted outside America.

Phil was sure our staff had pulled out all the stops to make his order really special. We were proud to admit that we had pulled out all the stops, however this wasn't a one off especially for him, this is what we do for all our customers and it's how every order is delivered :) And this was an unexpected call on a very busy Saturday night!

This is an update regarding our first few weeks since opening and some plans for the few ahead.
Just some background information ...
Percys was created by three people with a love for real food. Not the sort of “real” food which is jazzed up with fancy names and descriptions, and weird and wonderful ingredients, just good proper food.
Having a sister company which is a local Butchers means Percys can source its own meat directly from the Farmer, rub it with a homemade bespoke rub, hickory smoke it in our smoker, grill finish and serve with a range of homemade sauces and sides. This ensures our menu is exciting, creative, full of flavour and really, really tasty. We want to prove that takeaway food doesn’t have to be rubbish food, and bring something completely different and new to enjoy at home.
Percys has taken a huge influence from our friends on the other side of the pond, who certainly know a thing or two about BBQ techniques. In the UK a BBQ is a grill (charcoal or gas) that we generally only get out when it’s sunny to burn a few burgers or sausages on. In the USA, BBQ is a whole technique of cooking which involves smoking food really slowly and also a bit of grilling. This is enjoyed ALL year, hot or cold, rain or sun, with people perfecting their own secret rubs, marinades, sauces and mops, to really give theirs a personal flavour. A BBQ is such an incredibly versatile piece of equipment, and we even cooked our whole Christmas Dinner in ours, roasting the turkey, poaching our veg and even baking mince pies and a baked Alaska! I’ve also seen people baking delicate items such as meringues, with no smokey charcoal flavour!
So hey, here we are with Percys to spread the word that BBQ’s are much more than summer grilling, and we’re here to bring some inspired American BBQ food to your door.
The last few weeks ...
Percys is based in west Milton Keynes to cover the whole west flank from Old Stratford, Stony Stratford, Wolverton and Old Wolverton to Furzton, Emerson Valley, Tattenhoe and anywhere in between. You can find the area we currently cover at http://www.percys-delivered.co.uk/order.php, and if you’re just outside this area still definitely give us a call, as our friendly staff are likely to bend the rules slightly to ensure you don’t miss out.
Having sent out the leaflets, launched the website, established our page on Facebook and spread the word to as many people that we’re open, Percys opened for orders on Friday 20th May! And we’ve been impressed!! We knew that launching something new to an established takeaway market wasn’t going to be easy, but the people of MK have really surprised us and you’ve definitely been very interested by this new takeaway concept. Our Facebook page has been buzzing, with new fans joining every day and lots of very positive comments (keep ‘em coming!).
The next few weeks ...
We have already noticed some people returning for their Percy fix(you know who you are), and from the feedback we’ve received, we’re very hopeful we’ll see more and more of you calling for your next order soon. As more local advertising spreads across MK, we’ll be really focussing on increasing our orders and customer base, and trying to spread the word that the most exciting thing to hit MK since the concrete cows has launched!
As our menu becomes more established, we are hoping to introduce some exciting specials (and depending on how much you like them – who knows, they may become a regular on the menu). We have many, many interesting dishes to share with you over the next few months, so join us for the ride and your takeaway will never be boring again.
